frequent questions

Can you tell me about your experience and background?

I am trained in fine art photography with a degree from Montana State University’s College of Film and Photography. I have been professionally photographing weddings and portraits since 2011. I believe strongly in constant growth through continued education and make it a point to seek out challenging educational opportunities every year.

How would you describe your style?

My style is heavily photojournalistic, with an emphasis on creating genuine, artistically thoughtful images of your wedding story. I seek to make your photographs about you and the love and emotion present on your wedding day. I believe in quiet moments, and that includes a little reprieve  from the commotion and fanfare (preferably at sunset) to wander away and be present with each other and reflect on the day. It is during this time that I like to take creative portraits of you as a couple. It can be as short as 10 minutes or as long as two hours – it’s really up to you!

I lean more towards the “rich and vibrant” than the “light and airy”. I love contrast and depth and rely heavily on natural light to create dynamic, sometimes moody, photographs. I do usually use off-camera flash during the reception and dancing.
